I only post over here what I've written. That's why I created this blog. For the exception of I think 3 posts, which were ddedicated to 2 friends and Joyce & Emily D., everything else's been written by me. And I'll mention it if it isn't.
I had two things at the back of my mind when I wrote this.
(i) While we live on, untouched and unfazed by the prejudices that previous generations have had, especially against the economically deficient or the like, thinking proudly that we've transcended those boundaries and believe in an egalitarian society, if we stop to think, it's a facade. We're simply scared to accept that we too nurture the very same prejudices, hidden behind a show of suavity, decency, education and other such covers.
(ii) When we get into a relationship, not necessarily a boy-girl courtship kind, but relationships in general, and something goes amiss, the way to placate ourselves after the retaliation is that we've overcome whatever there was to the relationship and ready to move on. All the shreds have been wiped off. But suddenly, someday, all of that will come bck, or over a period of time we'd realize that all is not yet over, that we still cling on to those memories, harp on what had happened and more often than not, want to go back to it.
So that's what I thought, though not so explicitly, when I wrote that.
