Flowers

Flowers I gleaned from the dust
Flowers that fell, flowers crushed
As I touched them, I sensed distrust
I grieved for them, in anguish flushed

I knew not beauty as they possessed
Fate had them lying helpless
I picked them up and caressed
They were bliss and used to bless

My heart wrung with sympathy much
Compassion overtook, I addressed them thus

“The august light you emit here
Might even light up a star
If ever, it starts fading, I’ll be there
With every candle from the altar”

Twinkled with joy, their tiny eyes
Glowed their skin all the more
Thus were sealed eternal ties
Unto this day, flowers I adore

Hmm...well, thank you but you don't necessarily have to appreciate every mediocre effort of mine. That's what this is, and I know I could have done better.

Thanks anyways, I don't mind people saying good things about me, though ;)

That play of words again, the one I wrote about earlier! Really good.

nice poem....

the use of rhyme scheme was good to see.. a lot of poets these days do not follow a rhyme scheme..

a word of caution though... better stick to the poems n other creative stuff... no one wants to read a huge post about reservations... (u get all the info in the news itself)

@Rohit
Thanks :)

@Amiya
I'm good!! :D

@abhimir
Thanks for visiting my blog. Hope to see you more often. I try to rhyme because I like it, but there is much more to poetry than just rhyme.

Also, the post on reservation wasn't a news article. We all need to express our displeasure at any platform available to us. Just might make a difference.

Hope to see you back.
